Two-time winner of the prestigious International Historic Motoring Awards, “The Amelia” draws over 300 rare vehicles from collections around the world for a celebration of the automobile like no other.

PORSCHE DRIVING EXPERIENCE

May 21, 7am - 4:30pm
Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport

The Porsche Driving Experience departs from the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport immediately following the 7:00 a.m. check in and 7:30 a.m. drivers meeting with coffee and donuts. Participants will travel to US Naval Station Mayport in their personal vehicles where they will enjoy activities to include an autocross in one of the latest Porsches and a spirited ride with a professional driver. Lunch is held at the Naval Station. $275 for a party of two (2). Minimum of 2 people per car.

RM Sotheby’s, the official auction house of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, will return for its 23rd annual Amelia Island sale at the Ritz-Carlton on May 20 - 23, presenting approximately 150 of the world’s most sought-after blue-chip automobiles. Previews will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning. Auction will take place on Saturday, May 23 at 11:30 and is open to registered bidders, sellers, and credentialed media only.

A seminar hosted by NASCAR Hall of Fame crew chief Ray Evernham to celebrate Chevy Thunder, which was the GM Racing tag line during the ’80s. Panelists scheduled to appear to include: Richard Childress – Owner of multi-time NASCAR Championship winning Richard Childress Racing; Herb Fishel – Director of GM Racing for 40 years; George Follmer – UOP Shadow Racing; David Hobbs – 1972 SCCA F5000 and SCCA Tran-Am Champion and Brian Redman – 3-time SCCA F5000 Champion and IMSA GTP Champion, all in Chevy-powered cars. $40

CARS & COFFEE AT THE CONCOURS

The Amelia’s Cars & Coffee at the Concours allows individuals with vintage, exotic, and collectible
vehicles to gather on the same show field used to display vehicles entered in the following day’s prestigious Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. Proud owners of beautiful collectible and exotic vehicles gather with like-minded enthusiasts on the fairways for a cup or two of fresh coffee. The AICDE views Cars & Coffee as a gift to the community, a family-friendly “thank you” for supporting the event. Over 450 classic and exotic cars from local car clubs will be displayed on MotorXpo 1st Fairway and Show field and 10th & 18th Fairways of the Golf Club of Amelia Island.
