Wanna join in on a competition of hunting treasure on Amelia Island? Cutlass Candi with Candi's Treasure Chest has put together a great treasure map full of fun for you to go and explore on Amelia Island and get a chance to win a real Spanish silver Piece of Eight as well as other fun prizes! The hunt will begin with registration at Beach Diner Saturday August 11, 2018 at 7:00 am until 9:00 am. Last participant out will be at 9:00 am FIRM! The cost is $10 a person, including each child (cash only.) You will need to sign a waiver and pay to get your treasure clues and map. You may leave to begin the hunt any time after you register. You may start with any clue on the map but you will need to locate each and take a "selfie" with the treasure at its exact location once you find it. All "selfie" photos MUST be on your phone with the specific location and treasure to qualify for the grand prize of the silver Spanish Piece of Eight with Certificate of Authenticity. You will not need to gather anything at the treasure site except your selfie with the treasure! Once you have completed the tasks of finding the treasures you will need to report back to the Beach Diner for verifying of all selfies by 12:00 pm. We will then enjoy prize giveaways! For those completing the list correctly your name will be added in a drawing for the silver Spanish Piece of Eight! You must be present to win. This event is suitable for children of all ages but do remember there is walking involved on beaches and through some possible areas that may be uneven. Tennis shoes and cool clothing would be recommended as well as a nap sack with water to stay hydrated. You will need transportation to get from treasure to treasure so be prepared to use your thinking cap and you may need to ask questions of those along the way! This is a fun way to learn your island and see things that you may never have seen! While we all love pets, pets are not allowed on the route. Make sure you do not share anything on Facebook until after you have completed the treasure map and all pirates are back from the treasure hunt as you may give up the booty! So come out and join in on the pirate fun! Put your "ARRRRR" on and get in on the booty with Cutlass Candi! See ya at the Beach Diner Matey! Today's The Day!
